Nerd - Stead: 

i.e: a farm owned and ran by nerds

But it's so much more than just a farm and we're so much more than a bunch of nerds. We're problems solvers, early risers, animal lovers, gardeners, gamers, role players, crafters, artisans, carpenters, painters, dice goblins, and above all - Christians. 

We started this journey with a desire to become more self-sufficient but early on it became very clear, you cannot walk this path alone. We found a lovely community of nerds who think and believe the same way we do and get this - we found it at church!

Nerds of Faith

You can follow Christ and be a nerd at the same time, just be sure your worship is in the right place.

That's the truth with any culture, though. Where is your worship? Is it on your phone in social media? Is it at the bank where you money is kept? Or, is it directed at the God of the universe?

Back when Dungeons and Dragons came onto the scene it ended up as part of the grand old "satanic panic". As a Christian we're to abstain from such a thing. In truth, the game itself is not satanic in and of its own. Can it be satanic? Yes, just like anything can trend that direction. It all comes down to the table you're playing at and with whom you play.

Christian Resources for Nerds

There has been and still is a lot of judgment going around in Christian circles and I'm sure we've all fallen victim to it in some way or another. We often keep those interests hidden from others in communities of faith because of that judgment. It stifles authenticity and shames people for having those interests. 

Here at Ogre's Rest Nerdstead, we want to provide Christian resources to help other nerds of faith not only be authentic, but share their faith at the game table! There is no where on this beautiful God-given creation Christ cannot go, including the gaming table. Additionally, perpetual shame and Christ don't make good neighbors.
